The Old Salts were a pleasant surprise for me Saturday night (May 30th). I was there to shoot West Hammock and as I was chatting around with the guys when I heard this amazing sound coming from the stage. I would say this band is a cross between Mumford and Sons and the traditional East coast sound. This 6 member band stands out with both their look and their cohesiveness.
Excellent harmonies, great use of the mandolin and harmonica, the sound coming from the stage was very satisfying to listen to.
Afterwards I went up to talk to the boys and they came across as very friendly and approachable. You can sample their music here: The Old Salts Website

I look forward to seeing this band move their way up the Canadian music scene.
