from the crowd 2 Well after over 1 yr. and with much anticipation, West Hammock released their first CD called “The River”

The Band played to a packed house at the Moustache club in Oshawa with favorites Sea Shell and Broken Trail satisfying their fans.

The band writes all of their own music with lead singer Hunter Sheridan doing most of the vocals.

shaun acordian2Sean Thornton plays harmonica, piano and the instrument that makes this band special, the accordion.

Ryan fills out this threesome band with his flawless drumming.

The band often has Sean’s brother Neil come in to play base and for this special occassion, Alley Jed performed Sea Shell with Hunter, reprising the sound right from the CD.

The Moustache Club is a special place in the Oshawa night life scene, with playing recently to Grammy award winners “The Strumbella’s”.

The lighting at the “Stache” is very difficult for Band photography but luckily for me the Nikon D800 performed very well. Many of the shots were taken at 1600 iso just to be able to capture the group without the blur.

In my experience you have to be shooting at 1/500 or higher to stop motion on guitarist hands.

Look for the band next on Rogers TV – Daytime with Host Kate Hennessy.
